Join Us for Senior & Youth Soccer Night!

The Lakeshore High School Boy’s Soccer Team is excited to host our annual Senior & Youth Soccer Night on Tuesday, September 22, at Mark Lehmann Memorial Field, as the Lancers take on Battle Creek Central.

The Varsity game begins at 6:30 PM, but we encourage everyone to arrive early as we will honor our senior players before the game. Please be at the stadium by 6:00 PM to help us celebrate and cheer on our Senior Lancers!

All elementary and middle school students wearing a club, professional, or homemade soccer jersey will receive free admission with a paid adult ticket. Youth players will also have the special opportunity to walk onto the field with both teams and stand with them during team introductions and the National Anthem.

Youth players who would like to participate should meet near the stairs leading to the field on the Lancer side at 6:20 PM.

We hope you’ll come out for a fun evening of soccer, celebration, and community support. Please join us in cheering on our Lakeshore Soccer Programs!

Go Lancers!

More pictures from Constitution Day at Stewart Elementary!

Mrs. Keesler’s class celebrated Constitution Day by learning about the meaning behind the words in the Preamble of the Constitution. A great way to bring history to life in the classroom!

Constitution Day is a great reminder that our students aren’t just learning about government and civics — they’re practicing it right in their own classrooms!

Across Lakeshore Public Schools, many teachers begin the year by working with students to create a Classroom Constitution — a shared, living document that outlines classroom norms and expectations. Students take ownership of their learning environment, and the document can be revisited and amended throughout the year as their classroom community grows.

Today at Roosevelt, our 4th graders took that idea a step further! Students learned about the Preamble to the U.S. Constitution, watched Schoolhouse Rock, and then worked together to create their own classroom preamble. To make it official, each student signed it!

We love seeing our students connect history and civics to the communities they are building together every day.

Learning doesn’t always happen inside the classroom!

Ms. McNabnay’s Environmental Science students took their first field trip of the year to Hickory Creek, where they got hands-on experience examining aquatic life, water quality, and stream geology.

Place-based learning, real-world data collection, and a little time outdoors make for a great day of science!

Happy National IT Professionals Day!

Today, we’re giving a big shoutout to Chris Quartermaine, Austin Partee, David Barze, and Brian Ames!

Thank you for keeping our schools connected, helping our staff and students, and somehow finding a way to fix the things we can’t figure out. From the everyday questions to the unexpected technology challenges, you’re always there to lend a hand.

We appreciate your hard work, patience, and all the behind-the-scenes things you do to keep Lakeshore running.

Thanks for being such an important part of our Lancer team! We’re lucky to have you!

We Remember — September 11

Today, the Lakeshore Public Schools community pauses to remember September 11, 2001, and the nearly 3,000 lives lost that day.

As a school community, we have the opportunity to help our students understand the importance of remembering history—not only the events themselves, but the stories of courage, compassion, service, and resilience that followed.

Today, we remember the families who lost loved ones, honor the first responders and others who put their lives on the line, and reflect on the many ways people came together to support one another.

At Lakeshore, we strive to help our students become thoughtful, caring citizens who understand that how we treat one another matters.

Today and always, Lakeshore remembers.

A BIG Lakeshore Welcome to Our Young Fives & Kindergarten Families!

What a fun morning welcoming some of our newest Lancers! Our Young Fives and Kindergarten students and their families got a special first look at their new schools through a fun school scavenger hunt, a creative craft, a tour of a school bus, and plenty of other activities along the way!

It was a wonderful opportunity for students and families to explore, ask questions, meet staff, and start feeling comfortable in their new surroundings—with the support of the people who matter most.

Starting school is a BIG milestone, and we know those first days can come with a mix of excitement and a few butterflies. Our staff does an incredible job of rolling out the red carpet, creating a welcoming environment, and helping our youngest Lancers get off to a great start.

We’re so glad you’re here! Welcome to the Lakeshore family, Young Fives & Kindergarten!

A Little Rain Couldn’t Dampen Our First-Day Excitement!

The rain may have been falling outside, but inside our buildings, there was a buzz of excitement as students and staff kicked off a brand-new school year!

At Lakeshore High School, student helpers were stationed throughout the building, ready to greet classmates, answer questions, and help everyone find their way. What a wonderful example of our students looking out for one another!

Some of our elementary students got a lesson in indoor recess routines—because rainy days are part of the school experience, too!

Throughout the district, teachers were excited to welcome back familiar faces, reconnect with former students, and fill our hallways with smiles and energy once again.

There were new beginnings, familiar faces, a few “Where am I supposed to go?” moments, and plenty of excitement for the year ahead.

Day One is in the books, Lancers!
